It is a simple, three-step secure handoff. First, you upload your final master files and a lightweight preview file. Handoff automatically applies a secure watermark to your content proxies. Second, you send the unique portal link to your client. Third, they review the work and pay via Stripe. Once paid, the high-res deliverables are instantly unlocked for download.
2. Is my data secure? expand_more
Absolutely. Your master deliverables are encrypted at rest on enterprise-grade cloud architecture and are never publicly indexed. We operate on a strict "zero-exposure" model—active download URLs literally do not exist until the payment gateway confirms a successful transaction. Additionally, all transactions are processed securely through Stripe's PCI-compliant infrastructure, meaning Handoff never sees, touches, or stores your clients' financial data.
3. Do you take a percentage of my invoice? expand_more
Absolutely not. Whether you are on the Starter or Pro tier, Handoff takes 0% of your project revenue. Your clients pay you directly via your connected Stripe account, or you can invoice them externally and simply use Handoff to securely unlock the files.
4. What happens if I have a massive deliverable, like a 200GB ProRes file? expand_more
The Pro tier supports single files and project folders up to your storage limit (500GB or 1TB). Our robust, resumable upload engine ensures that if your Wi-Fi drops halfway through a massive upload, it will pause and resume exactly where it left off.
5. Do my clients need to create a Handoff account to download the files? expand_more
No. Friction kills approvals. Your client simply opens your branded portal link, reviews the watermarked preview, pays the invoice, and downloads the master files. No passwords or app downloads required.
6. I have international clients and use Wire Transfers / cross-border accounts. Can I still use Handoff? expand_more
Handoff natively integrates directly with Stripe to securely process credit cards, bank transfer, Apple Pay, and Google Pay, and other payment methods routing the funds instantly to your connected bank account. However, you are never locked into Stripe. If you prefer to invoice international clients via bank transfer, PayPal, or cross-border aggregators (like Skydo or Mulya), you can collect the funds externally and simply click "Unlock Files" in your dashboard to release the deliverables to your client.
7. How does the Audit Log protect me from chargebacks? expand_more
Every time a client unlocks their files, Handoff mathematically logs their IP address, device, timestamp, and a cryptographic hash of the exact file they downloaded. If a client attempts a chargeback claiming they "never received the work," you export this PDF log as bulletproof evidence to win the dispute.
